Silly Face Pancakes

After surviving 2,500 miles on the road, we celebrated our homecoming with a pancake decorating breakfast. CP#1 and Mom set aside a few bowls of fruit (blueberries, strawberries and bananas) while Dad Potato assumed skillet duty. And while whipped cream isn’t a breakfast staple in our house, it seemed right for the occasion. The kids loved making faces on their pancakes, and admittedly, Mom and Dad did, too.

CP#1’s pancake had an Elmo vibe

MP was going for a strawberry crown, but isn’t sure she pulled it off

CP#2’s creation: its whipped cream nose disappeared quickly

We’re looking forward to trying this breakfast “project” again. Mom Potato is thinking granola would make excellent hair. CP#1 has requested cherries for earrings and CP#2 wants mini chocolate chip freckles. The one thing we can all agree on? Playing with your food is fun.

What’s your best kid-friendly food creation?
