CP#2’s birthday is fast approaching, and the team has been on the lookout for some things he can really use. MP was thrilled when she discovered a super cool, screen-printed truck tee at Ember Grove in Portland. The boy loves farm machinery of any kind—this t-shirt was perfect for him.
Alas, the shop was sold out in his size, so MP contacted the artist, Colleen Foley, to see if she had more available. Colleen saved the day and created a vintage truck tee in CP#2’s favorite shade of orange.
Colleen, who is a graduate of the Maine College of Art, designs t-shirts for children and adults at her printmaking studio in Scarborough. For CP#2’s t-shirt, Colleen was inspired by the abandoned trucks she discovered at her boyfriend’s family farm.
The t-shirts are made of preshrunk, 100% cotton and are true to size (we love that). Colleen includes hand-printed washing instructions with each shirt.
In addition to clothing, you can find Colleen’s popular glass magnets, prints and home accessories at Ember Grove. She’s available for custom orders and soon the store will have some of her work available online.
As for MP, one birthday gift down, only a few more to go….
