Father’s Day Favorites

Does Father’s Day seem to sneak up on you every year? If you’re searching for ideas, here are a few last minute gifts for Dad:

Local Sprits
Cold River Vodka has a loyal following, but did you know the Freeport distillery also makes gin? Toast the man of the house with a G & T, and let him enjoy a few minutes to sip and enjoy.

Homemade Tee
The kids surprised DP with a Viva El Papa shirt one Father’s Day. This year, we’re planning on another Team Potato original. MP found this letterpress card in Portland and was inspired. A yellow T-shirt and some black fabric paint should do the trick.

This card will make a fun T-shirt design

A Good Read
Not long ago, MP went to see Andre Dubus III read from his new book, Townie, at the Portland Public Library. His cinematic memoir tells the story of Dubus’ gritty childhood in a Massachusetts mill town and how he learned to survive.

Maine Brews
DP is a fan of our local breweries, but these days, he’s enjoying Porter from Andrew’s Brewing Company in Lincolnville and Ishmael—a Copper Ale from Portland’s Rising Tide.

Tempting Treats
Gray’s Chasin’ the Ring sauces and spice rubs are just right for Father’s Day barbecues. Lakonia Greek Products in Saco sells delicious Kalamata Olives. And Eastport’s Raye’s Mustard is a CP family favorite for spicing up sandwiches.

Happy shopping… and Happy Father’s Day!
