Father’s Day is on Sunday, and MP needs to find a thoughtful gift for DP. Truth be told, he ordered himself a heart monitor for exercising, but that’s not quite what she had in mind. Here are some of the ideas she’s mulling over for Dad Potato’s big day:
1. A Visit to Lion’s Pride
DP went to Ebenezer’s Pub in Lovell recently and still raves about the visit. The pub, which boasts 35 Belgian beers on tap, was named the #1 beer bar in America by Beer Advocate Magazine. Impressive, right? Jen and Chris Lively, who own Ebenezer’s, also own Ebenezer’s Brew Pub in Brunswick. The Brunswick location has a tremendous selection of beers and a menu that includes house made Belgian frites. We can’t wait to visit.
2. A New Print for the Office
Etsy simply never disappoints. MP came across this vintage reproduction of a Maine map from the 1930’s and fell in love.
3. Adding Another Stamp in our Maine State Park Passport
Our family is on a state park kick lately. DP and the kids love to track down the passport stations at our Maine state parks and historic sites. There’s something satisfying about filling up the pages of this little book with stamps. The only question is, which park should we visit this weekend?
P.S. If you don’t have a pass yet, you can visit any Maine State Park this Sunday, June 17, for free. Yay! Visit the ME Dept. of Conservation’s Facebook page for details.
4. Treat Dad to a Super Cool, Maine T-Shirt
MP digs this handprinted T-shirt from Portland’s Bethany Hayes-Chute. Maybe it’s because the model in the photo is holding a chicken, or that he looks a little bit like Ray LaMontagne. Either way, DP will like this T-shirt because the State of Maine is covered in plaid.
No matter what you decide to do (or buy) for Dad this Sunday, we hope your family has a great Father’s Day!
