Fairy houses are a relatively new phenomenon in the Cute Potato household. We didn’t realize how much fun they could be to construct, until we were invited to the Portsmouth Fairy House Tour last September.
Since then, the kids build fairy houses in the woods, on the beach, and in the garden. They love to collect materials, like driftwood, pinecones, and stones to create sweet little chalets.
Fairy House Handbook, by Camden author Liza Gardner Walsh, is filled with wonderful ideas for budding fairy house builders like CP#1 and #2. Kids will learn where to find fairy house villages in Maine, how to search for creative materials, and more fairy house making tips.
MP likes that the book includes several simple craft projects. Little ones will enjoy putting together their own fairy house scrapbook or making Lavender Faerie Cookies for their new tenants.
