Our Favorite Parks: Mackworth Island

Poor CP#1 had a tooth pulled and a stomach bug last week, which means the Cute Potato ladies were in the house for 5 days straight. CP#1 didn’t have energy for much activity other than napping and watching marathons of Good Luck Charlie. By week’s end, she still didn’t feel 100%, and MP was getting a bad case of cabin fever.

On Saturday, Dad Potato took over nursing duty, so CP#2 and MP could get out for a few hours. We decided on a short trip to Mackworth Island in Falmouth. The walk couldn’t have been more restorative. MP swears she could smell Spring in the air: that marvelous, earthy scent packed with promise. And she’d forgotten how beautiful Mackworth Island can be this time of year.

We walked for hours, soaking up the beautiful March day. MP wished she packed a picnic lunch when our bellies began to grumble. But no matter, Mackworth Island proved to be a worthy spot to cure our cabin fever.
